Chief Compliance Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive Compliance function for the region, with a primary emphasis on the UK.

• Spearhead the zerohash UK licensing initiative in accordance with the new FSMA regulations.

• Keep abreast of UK and other EEA regulations, along with regulatory and compliance requirements; offer regional compliance support to various teams within zerohash.

• Create, implement, and manage processes for customer onboarding and ongoing compliance, including anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions, in line with regulatory standards.

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with regional regulatory bodies.

• Oversee regulatory submissions within the region.

• Manage responses to regional regulatory examinations and interactions with regulators.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Compliance, encompassing AML, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance, within a financial services organization or Fintech startup.

• Proven experience in facilitating the international expansion of a Fintech startup, particularly in the UK market.

• Demonstrated capability to develop and manage intricate programs in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

• Experience collaborating with regional financial regulators, including managing examinations.

• A legal or law degree is required.

• Self-sufficient, diligent, and motivated, with a track record of completing assignments in a delegated setting.

• Excellent time management abilities and proficiency in completing tasks within stringent deadlines.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills essential for effective communication with regulators and collaboration with colleagues across various regions and business units.

• Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite applications.

• Experience in the cryptocurrency sector is a plus.
