This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the Compliance division, which includes Healthcare, Pharmacy, Privacy, and Audit. Develop a vision, staffing strategy, budget, and key performance indicators for success.
• Develop a streamlined, dynamic repository of policies, standards, and SOPs aligned with legal and regulatory requirements (HIPAA/HITECH, state privacy laws, state medical practice regulations, telehealth/telepharmacy guidelines, CLIA, FDA/FTC/DEA interactions as necessary). Ensure proper version control, ownership, and sufficient training coverage.
• Implement ongoing monitoring, conduct internal audits, and manage issue resolution workflows.
• Integrate compliance into product development, launch processes, marketing/advertising, vendor onboarding, and entry into new markets. Act as a consultative partner who fosters strategic initiatives while mitigating only the most significant risks.
• Collaborate with Security and Legal teams on investigations, breach responses, regulatory engagements, and consumer communications. Lead the analysis of lessons learned post-incident.
• Establish due diligence protocols, contracting standards, and continuous oversight for vendors, prescribers, partner pharmacies, and other affiliated entities.
• Provide role-specific, impactful training; promote a culture of open reporting with non-retaliation policies, hotline management, and trend analysis.
• Act as the main liaison for relevant regulators and accrediting organizations. Stay ahead of regulatory changes and prepare the organization accordingly.
• Offer updates to the Board as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• 10-15+ years of experience in developing and leading compliance programs within technology-driven, multi-state healthcare or pharmacy-related environments (digital health, wearable technology, telehealth, virtual care platforms, healthtech, consumer wellness with medical claims, eRx/fulfillment).
• Proven track record in hiring and mentoring high-performing teams; adeptness in greenfield settings.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Strong executive presence, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and the capacity to influence across Legal, Product, Security, and Clinical teams.
• Possess a builder's mindset; think systematically; maintain operational rigor.
• Demonstrate calmness in uncertain situations; exhibit a bias for action; make data-driven decisions.
