This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Define the target-state architecture for the evolution of the company’s platform.

• Drive architectural direction encompassing APIs, services, integration patterns, data, identity, and AI-enabled capabilities.

• Assist the company in transitioning from fragmented systems to a more unified platform model.

• Provide guidance on significant architectural decisions with well-founded reasoning, tradeoff analysis, and pragmatic recommendations.

• Identify architectural bottlenecks, duplication issues, scaling risks, and structural weaknesses.

• Direct leadership focus on the most critical technical decisions.

• Establish architecture standards, review mechanisms, and decision frameworks that enhance quality without hindering team productivity.

• Create sufficient discipline to foster coherence while avoiding excessive processes that may hinder architectural progress.

• Lead or influence prototyping initiatives for new platform capabilities, architectural transitions, and future-state patterns.

• Rapidly validate significant ideas to avoid overcommitting to flawed assumptions.

• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and senior engineers.

• Elevate the technical standards through clarity, credibility, and sound judgment.

• Serve as a force multiplier rather than a bottleneck.


⛳️ Requirements

• Possess deep technical judgment and strong systems thinking capabilities.

• Ability to reason from first principles and articulate tradeoffs effectively.

• Strong knowledge of modern SaaS architecture, APIs, distributed systems, data design, and platform evolution.

• Capability to balance long-term design considerations with practical delivery needs.
