This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the reliability of assets and mechanical integrity practices within batch, continuous, and specialty chemical operations.

• Compare site performance against industry benchmarks and peer operations.

• Create roadmaps for reliability excellence, prioritizing based on risk, value, and ease of implementation.

• Deliver data-driven insights regarding reliability risks, cost factors, and asset performance.

• Lead or assist in asset criticality assessments, failure mode management, and risk-based maintenance initiatives.

• Identify and resolve chronic equipment issues and systemic causes of unplanned downtime.

• Align operational discipline, maintenance practices, and execution routines to enhance plant stability and extend asset lifespan.

• Convert recommendations into actionable site-ready plans with designated ownership and timelines.

• Review and enhance Mechanical Integrity and reliability-related PSM components, including inspection regimes, MOC, PSSR, and asset risk management.

• Conduct field audits, maintenance walkdowns, and investigations of failures.

• Provide independent assurance of safety and compliance.

• Aid in the closure and sustainability of corrective and preventive actions.

• Evaluate the quality of reliability data across CMMS/EAM, downtime systems, and condition monitoring tools.

• Define reliability KPIs, dashboards, and governance processes.

• Quantify and monitor the benefits of reliability initiatives.

• Report progress and impacts to site and corporate leadership.

• Review and optimize maintenance strategies, planning, and scheduling.

• Support assessments for turnarounds and shutdowns, readiness reviews, scope optimization, and post-event learnings.

• Integrate lessons learned into standard operating procedures and future maintenance strategies.

• Assess and implement digital and AI-driven reliability tools.

• Transfer knowledge through coaching, training, and the development of standard work practices.

• Cultivate trusted client relationships through objective assessments, technical credibility, and hands-on support for implementation.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field.

• CMRP or CRL certification is preferred.

• At least 8 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, specialty chemical, or refining settings.

• Strong focus on asset reliability, maintenance engineering, or reliability engineering in batch or continuous process environments.

• Practical experience collaborating with operations and maintenance in plant/area engineering, reliability engineering, maintenance leadership, or rotating equipment positions.

• Knowledge of asset criticality analysis, FMEA, RCFA, preventive and predictive maintenance, and reliability data analysis.

• Experience with turnarounds, shutdowns, and significant maintenance events.

• Proven ability to enhance unplanned downtime, equipment availability, maintenance costs, and MTBF.

• History of measurable improvements in reliability, safety, and cost through maintenance strategies, work management, spare parts optimization, and collaboration with operations.

• Familiarity with PSM requirements and mechanical integrity programs, including MOC, HAZOP/LOPA interactions, inspection regimes, safe work practices, and asset lifecycle management.

• Strong understanding of reliability and maintenance practices in chemical plants, including RCM.

• Working knowledge of chemical processes such as reaction, distillation, crystallization, polymerization, separation, drying, and blending.

• Experience with CMMS/EAM systems like SAP, IBM Maximo, or Infor/Hexion; condition monitoring; predictive analytics; mobile maintenance; reliability dashboards; and visual asset-performance management.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a global, multidisciplinary team.

• Willingness to travel extensively to client locations.
