This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +8 more states.
• Reach out to members through telephone, mail, and electronic communications to recover written-off loans and accounts.
• Handle communications that encompass DSA agreements, disputes, and cease and desist requests.
• Execute Skip Tracing efforts to find members and their assets.
• Keep a precise and comprehensive written record of all communications regarding member accounts, including account status, third-party actions, repossession, bankruptcy, etc.
• Address queries, concerns, or disputes from debtors about outstanding debts, ensuring effective resolutions while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Respond to communications from third parties and prepare necessary information for collection agencies and attorneys, including reviewing files to authorize legal action.
• Generate regular reports on collection activities and account statuses.
• Assign accounts and update account actions in collaboration with third-party collection agencies and attorneys, which may involve filing estate claims.
• Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in collections, legal collections, repossession, and/or post-charge-off recovery is required.
• A responsible individual capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to independently negotiate feasible payment plans with members based on standardized processes and exceptional circumstances.
• Skill in identifying and escalating legal concerns and/or reputational risks during the collection process for each account.
• Familiarity with CFPB, FDCPA, WCA (preferred), and other debt collection regulations.
• Understanding of charge-offs, repossessions, money judgments, estate and probate filings, and debt consolidation companies.
• Exceptional verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills, with the capability to remain assertive and confident in challenging situations.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
