Certified Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Medical coding within an acute care environment; proficient computer skills are required (e.g., MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, Encoder);

• Familiarity with coding guidelines, payer regulations, and federal billing standards;

• Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes;

• Capability to investigate coding-related issues;

• Proficient in coder training;

• CCS certification is mandatory, along with knowledge of the 3M/HDS coding application.

• Experience in inpatient and emergency department settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in inpatient coding is essential.

• Strong proficiency in 3M, Windows, and EPIC systems is required.

• Healthcare coding or health information certifications such as CCS, RHIA, RHIT, or CCP are necessary.

• Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day.
