This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluates medical record documentation to identify suitable billing codes and required documentation.

• Assigns evaluation and management codes to the correct CPT code and diagnoses to the appropriate ICD-10 code.

• Collaborates with physicians to review documentation, address coding issues, and obtain signatures for all unsigned service dates.

• Serves as the lead individual and supports coders with medical terminology and policy interpretation.

• Aids in enhancing physician understanding of documentation requirements.

• Compiles case reports and initiates follow-up actions for the billing process.

• Performs additional duties as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS-P); AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or any AAPC specialty-specific coding credentials).

• Prior coding experience or an equivalent level of education, such as an associate’s degree in a related field, is preferred.

• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.

• Proficient in computer systems.

• Skilled in medical billing and coding.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
