This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +16 more states.
• Provide guidance to Jerry regarding its new product for Florida property tax appeals.
• Evaluate product designs and identify processes that may not align with Florida's Value Adjustment Board system.
• Clarify the practical application of Chapter 194, F.S., and DOR uniform rules 12D-9 and 12D-10.
• Assist the team in navigating the county-level variations among Florida Property Appraiser offices and VABs.
• Offer advice on TRIM notice schedules, the 25-day filing period, DR-486 and its variants, e-filing versus paper submissions, and the §194.014 partial-payment requirement.
• Contribute to the development of hearing and evidence processes, including comparable selection, evidence exchange timelines, and condition-based arguments.
• Conduct thorough testing of the product and resolve any issues prior to launch.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on experience in Florida related to filing residential property tax appeals.
• Personal experience in filing or presenting petitions before a Florida Value Adjustment Board, or serving as a special magistrate in adjudications.
• Extensive experience with numerous parcels and knowledge of unique cases.
• Comprehensive understanding of each step involved in the Florida property tax appeals process.
• No existing conflicts with any other company that develops consumer property tax appeal software.
• Preference for candidates based in Florida.
• Availability of approximately 5–10 hours per week on an hourly, as-needed basis.
• Capability to provide advice via phone or video conferencing.
