This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• In the role of Category Manager for B- and C-parts, you will oversee the strategic and operational management of product categories essential to our installation capabilities, including substructures and B- and C-parts for PV systems, battery storage, and heat pumps.
• You recognize that while these components may appear to have low individual value, their collective impact on cost, quality, and installation efficiency is substantial.
• You will proactively seek out cost-saving opportunities, independently identify avenues for savings, and drive related initiatives in collaboration with our regional sites in a systematic manner.
• Your objective is to create sustainable value for 1KOMMA5° through a well-defined category strategy and structured supplier development in a rapidly growing environment that necessitates decisive action.
• Formulate and execute a clear category strategy focused on sustainably enhancing cost, quality, and availability.
• Establish and continuously improve a robust and competitive supplier network.
• Conduct tenders (RFQ/RFP), negotiate pricing, and independently identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in coordination with our sites.
• Manage and nurture existing supplier relationships, including performance monitoring.
• Ensure delivery capability and quality in a fast-expanding installation landscape.
• Collaborate closely with SCM, installation operations, and regional sites on demand forecasting and prioritization.
• Carry out potential analyses to uncover cost-reduction opportunities within your product categories.
• Create scalable procurement processes to support business growth.
• Utilize KPIs and data-driven reporting to manage product categories effectively.
• Actively share knowledge and promote best practices among the team.
• A completed degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a similar qualification.
• Several years of experience in strategic procurement or category management.
• Technical knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, and cost structures related to installation materials or similar product groups.
• Experience in conducting tenders (RFQ/RFP) and leading complex pricing negotiations.
• A proven history of identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
• A strong data-driven and analytical approach to work, with a solid grasp of cost structures and market dynamics.
• A structured and self-directed working style suited to a dynamic, fast-evolving environment.
• Excellent communication skills and assertiveness when engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and modern procurement tools.
• Business-fluent proficiency in German and English (C-level).
