This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Operating from your home office, certified Teachers will oversee instructional programs in a virtual setting.
• Utilizing the telephone, Internet, and various curriculum tools, they will routinely consult with learning coaches and students to ensure the successful completion of each child’s instructional program.
• The CTE Teacher will be accountable for the successful execution of the following tasks: Grading assignments, creating progress reports, and conducting parent conferences punctually; Supporting the instructional program with both asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction; Reviewing curriculum and developing alternative methods for presenting lessons to enhance student comprehension (working directly with students and parents); Regularly communicating with parents, students, and other teachers to create and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, assess scores, provide feedback on student work, recommend instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and coach special projects; Collaborating with fellow teachers to ensure that all students are making satisfactory progress through the program, providing parents with a central contact point, and distributing tasks among teachers; Gaining a general understanding of the full K-12 curriculum and a deep understanding of the courses for which they are responsible; Assisting students and parents with alternative strategies and offering extra help with daily assignments and projects; Maintaining regular communication with parents, students, and curriculum specialists via computer and telephone; Keeping student records and data current, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance records, and logging all contacts with students and parents; Consulting with other educators and staff learning specialists to create alternative enrichment activities and modifications to student programs to enhance understanding; Collaborating with other teachers to organize social activities and pertinent field trips for students; Managing regional field trips and striving to integrate these experiences into the curriculum; Creating and implementing virtual methods to foster and sustain a “school community”; Participating in the organization and administration of State Testing as directed; Collaborating with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors to ensure students and families receive appropriate communications, students are making satisfactory progress, and established goals are being achieved; Supporting the development and continuous improvement of UCA’s APEX/CTE program by creating industry-aligned pathways, integrating real-world and career-connected learning experiences, monitoring student progress toward credential attainment, and working with staff and partners to expand high-quality CTE opportunities for all students. Attending field trips and other community activities organized for families; and performing other duties as assigned.
• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach CTE in Utah (appropriate to content area and grade level responsibilities).
• Experience in teaching relevant CTE courses.
• Strong technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Demonstrated track record as a team player.
• Willingness to travel for school events, which may include occasional overnight travel.
