This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more state.
• Design and implement ongoing pressure campaigns that successfully shape public perception and encourage major corporations and industry stakeholders to adopt and enforce animal welfare policies.
• Collaborate with the team leader and other campaign experts to create, lead, and carry out impactful campaign strategies.
• Investigate crucial information about major corporations and industry stakeholders, including their corporate structure, history, animal welfare protocols, sustainability practices, leadership, social media profiles, and affiliates.
• Research and suggest campaign initiatives and tactics, including execution and escalation timelines.
• Work closely and consistently with corporate relations personnel to enhance collaboration between the campaigns and outreach teams.
• Conduct outreach to essential food-industry stakeholders as required.
• Keep accurate, current, and consistent campaign materials that align with internal standards.
• Partner with other departments to align the development and execution of campaign materials.
• Communicate and coordinate with external representatives to implement advertising strategies through channels beyond the organization.
• Participate in coalition calls and work alongside other nonprofit organizations that are influencing food-industry policy reform.
• Represent the organization during on-the-ground activities, such as protests and other events.
• Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
• Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned.
• At least two years of professional experience in awareness-raising campaigns, advocacy, corporate relations, project management, or a similar field.
• Exceptional organizational, time-management, and project-management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a keen attention to detail.
• Familiarity with the U.S. and/or Canadian food industry and significant farmed animal welfare issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a professional and persuasive manner.
• Comfort with confrontational situations and public advocacy.
• Willingness to engage in initiatives that publicly target corporations, industries, and individuals.
• Readiness and capability to travel as needed.
• Ability to uphold confidentiality.
