
Call Center Pharmacy Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Actively expand the patient base for specialty pharmacy by making proactive outbound calls to eligible patients and enrolling them with Shields Partner Pharmacy.
• Inform patients about the various services provided by the Shields Specialty Pharmacy Program.
• Uphold the values of Shields by maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Engage with patients over the phone, emphasizing the advantages of the Shields Partner Pharmacy program over other comprehensive pharmacy care models.
• Review patient’s EMR and chart notes before making outbound calls to ensure a thorough understanding of the patient’s condition and situation.
• Recognize medications that require special storage or handling, including hazardous medications and those requiring refrigeration.
• Determine necessary supplies for specific medications, such as sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, and band-aids.
• Must be adaptable with shift timings: (typical shift hours: M-F: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM // flexibility needed for occasional Saturday: 11:00 AM-4:00 PM).
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Required Licensure/Certification: Experienced pharmacy technicians must be licensed in Colorado.
• National certification from PTCB or an equivalent is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• 0-1 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a related field.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree or PTCB/ExCPT License is strongly preferred.
• Opportunity to achieve national certification through PTCB or ExCPT within 6 months of hire via Shields training classes (included as part of employee development).
