This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.
• Develop stocking models by taking into account various factors such as demand forecasts, lead times, logistics, and supplier capabilities.
• Perform regular assessments and modifications to stocking models in response to evolving demand trends to ensure optimal inventory management.
• Assist in identifying inventory risks (e.g., possible stock shortages, extended lead time vulnerabilities) and communicate potential mitigation strategies to Planning and Procurement leadership.
• Review and update purchasing master data (e.g., lead times, order multiples, safety stock) along with planning parameters to accurately reflect current supply and supplier capabilities.
• Implement MRP action messages and convert approved demand signals into timely procurement actions to achieve desired inventory and service levels.
• Create and oversee purchase orders in accordance with cost, quality, and delivery objectives; monitor orders and coordinate inbound logistics to fulfill need dates.
• Confirm acknowledgments and keep stakeholders informed about order statuses and any changes.
• Address day-to-day supplier issues (price, delivery, invoice discrepancies) and escalate to management as necessary.
• Foster and sustain strong, collaborative partnerships with suppliers to ensure dependable, high-quality, and timely deliveries.
• Document delivery and quality issues, escalating them to suppliers and internal management when appropriate.
• Assist in gathering data for tracking supplier performance (OTIF, responsiveness), collaborating with Procurement leadership for regular reviews.
• Advocate for ethical sourcing practices and sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, working closely with suppliers to encourage responsible sourcing and environmental stewardship.
• Collaborate with Demand Planning on forecast signals.
• Coordinate with Operations, Warehousing/Logistics, and Finance to synchronize purchasing activities with production schedules and cash flow considerations.
• Provide clear and timely status updates to facilitate cross-functional decision-making.
• Associate’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain positions.
• Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and relevant data parameters.
• Excellent analytical abilities with a knack for interpreting complex data and making well-informed decisions.
• Proficient in inventory control methods and inventory management software.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
