Business Intelligence Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain a cloud-based data lake.

• Evaluate our ETL services to facilitate data transfer from our sources to the data lake, and from the data lake to our Power BI reports and other systems.

• Administer our API keys, OAuth configurations, and necessary access permissions to enable various services to authenticate with the data lake.

• Enhance data refresh processes to ensure timely, precise, and comprehensive data that aligns with the API constraints of our subscribed services, minimizing downtime.

• Utilize the source data present in our data lake to normalize, transform, and interlink our data for executing business intelligence calculations and reporting.

• Develop calculations in Power BI to generate business intelligence reports that fulfill Mako’s reporting requirements.

• Implement checks and balances to detect if critical data is absent from source systems, thereby ensuring accurate and complete business intelligence reporting.

• Collaborate with other Mako stakeholders to confirm that reporting is accurate and meets specified criteria.

• Create essential audit support for business intelligence calculations to assure users of the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in computer science, data analytics, statistics, or a related field.

• 2-5 years of experience in managing a data lake, data modeling, and writing business intelligence calculations.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively translate business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.

• Ability to provide proactive insights on enhancing Mako’s business intelligence services to be more efficient, intuitive, and user-friendly.

• Eagerness to research and learn as business intelligence platforms and strategies evolve over time.

• Familiarity with a business intelligence platform (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is essential.

• Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets at an advanced level is required.

• Experience with AWS is a plus.
