Business Intelligence Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and integrate customizable dashboards, self-service reporting tools, and predictive analytics within the CMM application.

• Design user-friendly, interactive dashboards and visualizations that convey business insights.

• Coordinate and implement data replication or feeds for downstream stakeholders and external systems.

• Monitor system performance to ensure that analytical queries adhere to defined SLA response times and dashboard loading targets.

• Foster user engagement with dashboards and reporting tools.

• Collaborate with product owners, data engineers, and UX designers to incorporate analytics features into the CMM user interface.

• Convert business requirements and KPIs into technical designs and actionable insights.

• Develop and enhance dashboards and reports using approved BI tools.

• Implement and validate SQL logic, calculations, and metric definitions.

• Work with Data Engineering to resolve upstream data issues and curate reporting data.

• Apply visualization standards and maintain documentation.

• Ensure that reporting artifacts comply with privacy, access control, and data handling regulations.

• Establish and uphold data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.

• Enhance BI platforms through performance optimization, automation, metadata management, predictive analytics, and self-service BI.

• Support architecture design documents, governance artifacts, data lineage, and metadata catalog processes.

• Utilize and support AI/ML solutions in accordance with government standards.

• Maintain an AI/ML Capability Register that tracks status, submission dates, and authorization history.

• Implement responsible AI/ML practices that align with federal requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• MA/MS degree with 5+ years of general experience in information systems and 5+ years of specialized experience, or BS/BA degree with 7+ years of general experience.

• Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data transformations that support large-scale analytical data systems.

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or AWS QuickSight.

• Advanced SQL skills and experience with analytical data models and semantic layers.

• Experience delivering reporting in regulated or high-sensitivity data environments.

• Experience aiding in testing by writing acceptance criteria and verifying test-case results.

• Experience generating current requirements, sizing user stories, and eliminating roadblocks prior to sprint initiation.

• Excellent oral and written presentation and communication abilities.

• Capacity to engage with high-level customer stakeholders and cultivate customer relationships.

• Familiarity with industry tools, solutions, methods, best practices, and emerging technologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to formulate and articulate recommendations for enhancements.

• Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Preferred certifications include Tableau Certified Data Analyst, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Power BI Data Analyst, Certified Data Management Professional, Snowflake SnowPro Core, Databricks Certified Data Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, and AWS Certified Data Engineer.
