This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.
• Establish and nurture relationships with external referral sources to ensure a steady flow of high-quality new SBA loan transactions.
• Communicate the SBL narrative while emphasizing competitive advantages within the market.
• Proactively manage the pipeline, promptly following up on new leads and providing detailed feedback to potential borrowers.
• Update the pipeline tracker on a weekly basis to furnish management with activity data.
• Possess a thorough understanding of FMB-SBL credit guidance.
• Identify new loans that align with SBL's credit criteria and contribute to enhancing SBL's loan portfolio.
• Compile standard loan packages; prepare income-statement-only spreads and concise credit memos for each loan to ensure compliance with credit policies and eligibility requirements before submission to Underwriting.
• Collaborate with prospective borrowers to gather necessary documents; organize and save documents according to team protocols, ensuring the security of any sensitive or personally identifiable information.
• Work with borrowers to resolve any character concerns by obtaining written explanations and any additional documentation as required by the SOP.
• Participate in the initial “kick-off” call with the borrower and Underwriter for each loan.
• Assist Underwriters and Closers as needed to collect required documentation and ensure borrower cooperation.
• Maintain positive and productive relationships with clients, external referral sources, SBL team members, and other internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and compliance requirements related to job responsibilities.
• Perform any other duties as assigned or requested.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of five (5+) years of successful experience in originating SBA loans is required.
• Strong sales acumen and the ability to effectively market and network.
• Understanding of SBA SOP and loan eligibility criteria.
• Capability to analyze loans, along with appropriate credit underwriting knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong client service orientation.
