
Business Development Agronomist – Key Accounts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Assists the Key Account team by utilizing extensive agronomic knowledge to enhance revenue and demonstrate return on investment through customer interactions.
• Collaborates with Key Account Managers to formulate and implement account strategies aimed at increasing market share in specialty fertilizers and biological products.
• Establishes trusted relationships with customer R&D and agronomy teams to assess needs and position appropriate solutions.
• Aids in the market readiness of new product launches by developing positioning strategies and trial plans.
• Designs and analyzes field trials, translating findings into clear ROI narratives.
• Develops and presents sales tools to support KAMs and key retail partners.
• Coordinates product placements and agronomic protocols with stakeholders in accounts.
• Works in conjunction with Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and product capabilities.
• Identifies new opportunities within designated key accounts and documents subsequent actions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Over 5 years of experience in agronomy, technical sales, product development, or customer-facing positions within crop inputs (fertility, biologicals, crop protection, seed, or similar).
• Proven capability to engage credibly with technical audiences (R&D, agronomists, consultants) and influence decisions using data.
• Familiarity with field research principles, trial design, and the interpretation of agronomic results.
• Strong business insight with the ability to link product performance to customer economics and ROI.
• Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and written communication skills.
• Outgoing and relationship-focused approach with a demonstrated ability to connect with a diverse range of audiences and roles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and comfortable using CRM tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as necessary.
