This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversee and enhance the global business continuity program within a regulated manufacturing setting.
• Ensure the business continuity program effectively supports manufacturing operations and essential business functions to endure and recover from disruptions while complying with regulatory standards, maintaining product supply, and meeting customer commitments.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing sites, operations leadership, and other vital functions to integrate continuity and resilience into daily operations and long-term risk management strategies.
• Chair the Business Continuity Steering Committee, engaging senior leaders in risk oversight, prioritization, and decision-making related to continuity.
• Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards for senior leadership that highlight risk exposure, organizational preparedness, and program deficiencies.
• Develop, enhance, and standardize tools and templates for critical business continuity components such as business continuity plans, business impact analyses, risk assessment methodologies, tabletop exercises, and event simulations.
• Ensure that tools and methodologies are scalable and uniformly applied across our global network.
• Work alongside functional stakeholders and global manufacturing operations to implement and uphold the Business Continuity Program.
• Conduct and document Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to identify critical processes, recovery priorities, and operational risk exposure.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish recovery objectives, including Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), Maximum Tolerable Period of Disruption (MTPD), and other continuity requirements.
• Assist manufacturing sites in planning, facilitating, and documenting tabletop exercises and simulations, including engagement with key extended stakeholders such as suppliers, customers, and community partners.
• Evaluate preparedness and the effectiveness of business continuity plans, track corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement based on exercise outcomes and lessons learned.
• Design and deliver role-specific business continuity training while raising awareness of business continuity roles, responsibilities, and best practices throughout the organization.
• Act as the business continuity subject matter expert during regulatory inspections, internal audits, and customer evaluations.
• Serve as the main coordination point for corporate, customer, and other stakeholder requests related to business continuity and resilience.
• Provide guidance or direct support to site or functional continuity coordinators as necessary.
• Assist with crisis management and incident response efforts during significant disruptions.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a relevant environment is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, or compliance is necessary.
• Proven experience in regulated manufacturing settings (medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, or similar) is essential.
• Solid understanding of ISO 22301 is required.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 is preferred.
• Strong operational mindset with the capacity to translate business continuity needs into actionable steps.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, including operations leaders, senior executives, and external stakeholders.
• Capability to express complex ideas in a clear, concise, and well-structured manner, both in writing and verbally.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when managing confidential information.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, respond swiftly during disruptive events, and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in standard business software tools and reporting systems.
• Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) is preferred; ABCP, AMBCI, MBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, or related certifications are also valued.
