This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate independently with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to articulate project goals and compliance results.
• Identify key stakeholders and evaluate project scope along with regulatory influences.
• Gather, assess, and confirm business and functional requirements for compliance-related projects.
• Break down overarching regulatory and policy requirements into specific functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Record business rules, quality attributes, and compliance limitations.
• Develop current and future-state process flows and assist in gap analysis.
• Document system modifications through narratives, diagrams, and visual representations.
• Formulate and implement effective testing strategies to verify compliance requirements and evaluate cross-system implications.
• Assist with audit readiness, remediation efforts, and regulatory change management processes.
• Engage in prioritization and business justification discussions for compliance projects.
• Reuse and standardize requirements documentation wherever applicable.
• Provide mentorship to Business Analyst I team members on documentation practices and compliance analysis.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
• Bachelor's Degree related to the position or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• At least four years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, Compliance, Risk, Legal, or Mortgage Lending Technology roles.
• Capability to organize and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in accurate data entry.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
• In-depth understanding of mortgage compliance concepts, regulatory changes, and policy interpretation.
• Experience in translating regulatory, investor, and state-specific requirements into system and process modifications.
• Practical experience in supporting regulatory initiatives affecting loan origination, such as the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Mortgage Call Report (MCR), Loan Officer, and state licensing.
• Experience in audit and regulatory examination readiness, including validation, testing, and remediation tasks.
• Ability to verify system behavior against regulatory, reporting, and investor standards.
• Experience in supporting document generation and closing platforms (e.g., Docutech), which includes regulatory document logic, form updates, testing, and impact analysis.
• Familiarity with multi-state regulatory requirements and examinations.
• Knowledge of MISMO standards and Qualified Mortgage (QM) requirements is advantageous.
• Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid SDLC methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to clarify complex workflows and requirements.
• Skill in producing clear documentation, such as requirements, process flows, and visual models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capability to engage stakeholders at various levels.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaborative documentation tools.
