This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Address both written and verbal inquiries from borrowers regarding their account status, payment history, ownership, and servicing issues.
• Prepare and dispatch correspondence related to account verification, requests for payment history, payoff details, and updates on accounts.
• Investigate and resolve borrower concerns promptly and professionally.
• Keep precise records of all communications with borrowers and actions taken on accounts.
• Examine consumer disputes received directly from borrowers as well as those from credit reporting agencies.
• Assess account documentation, payment records, and reporting history to determine the validity of disputes.
• Coordinate necessary corrections and updates to credit bureau reports when applicable.
• Ensure all investigations into disputes are completed within the required regulatory timeframes.
• Review and process notifications of bankruptcy along with associated legal documents.
• Verify bankruptcy status using court records and approved resources.
• Update servicing systems and account records to accurately reflect bankruptcy filings and status changes.
• Handle requests for verification of payment history and account details.
• Research account information and provide precise documentation to authorized individuals.
• Confirm account ownership, balances, and transaction history as required.
• Review and process requests for borrower name changes along with supporting documents.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for every change made to accounts.
• Review and verify Power of Attorney documents for completeness and acceptability.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant regulations regarding third-party authorizations.
• Comply with federal, state, and company servicing regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in corporate administration, accounting, or borrower services.
• Strong comprehension of consumer account servicing practices and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), bankruptcy procedures, and consumer finance regulations is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Remarkable attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and servicing/account management systems.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a quiet, distraction-free work-from-home environment.
