
Bookkeeper, Payroll & Compliance Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Ensure precise financial records are maintained using [e.g. QuickBooks, Xero]. Reconcile bank and credit card statements while tracking and categorizing business expenses.
• Gather contractor timesheets and hours worked from field managers or contractors. Calculate weekly payroll in compliance with labor regulations, maintain payroll records, and assist with payment processes.
• Prepare and dispatch weekly invoices to clients, ensuring alignment with contractor hours worked and project details. Monitor payment statuses and follow up on overdue invoices.
• Keep accurate records and documentation for contractors. Ensure adherence to relevant labor laws and regulations, provide guidance on appropriate contractor classification, and support HR processes such as onboarding. Assist with compliance reporting and audits as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR Management, or Business Administration.
• More than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or HR compliance.
• Understanding of labor laws and contractor management.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar (preferred but not mandatory).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Reliable internet connection and experience with remote work tools (Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace).
