This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Ensuring accurate financial documentation through the use of Xero.
• Handling accounts payable and receivable, which includes generating and following up on invoices.
• Regularly reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet items.
• Preparing and filing VAT returns in accordance with HMRC regulations.
• Overseeing payroll processing or coordinating with an external payroll service provider.
• Assisting with month-end closing procedures and generating management reports.
• Keeping a well-organized and audit-ready filing system for financial records.
• Collaborating with our external accountant as necessary.
• Detecting and reporting any financial discrepancies or suggesting process enhancements.
• Updating financial models, such as Cash Flow, to guarantee accurate reporting.
• At least 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small to medium-sized enterprise.
• Proficient in using Xero - familiar with the platform and ready to contribute immediately.
• Strong grasp of VAT, bank reconciliation, and management accounts.
• AAT qualified (or equivalent) - both full and partial qualifications will be considered.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a systematic and organized approach.
• Comfortable working remotely and capable of managing your own workload with minimal oversight.
• Excellent communication skills - able to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
