This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver prompt, courteous, and high-quality customer support to all policyholders and claimants by responding to customer calls, processing claims, and addressing customer inquiries.
• Oversee an inventory of both litigated and non-litigated cases.
• Evaluate and review auto insurance claims to pinpoint areas of contention, investigating and collecting all essential information and documentation concerning the claim, assessing liability and damages, and negotiating settlements with opposing parties or their insurance companies.
• Ensure adherence to specific state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures.
• Handle both non-litigation and litigation cases regarding auto claims disputes, communicate with all involved parties, attend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings as necessary, while maintaining regular communication with clients, claims adjusters, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, claims counsel, and litigation claims management for strategic planning, including fostering and sustaining positive working relationships with approved defense firms and other industry vendors.
• Review legal documents to ensure compliance with the initial suit-handling action plan.
• Act as a corporate representative for discovery review and depositions, and appear as Corporate Representative at depositions and trials when required.
• Analyze policy language to make appropriate coverage decisions, draft frequent and complex coverage correspondence, and proactively manage both non-litigated and litigated claim files from initiation to resolution.
• Direct and control the activities and expenses of various external vendors, including defense counsel, coverage counsel, experts, and independent adjusters.
• Maintain adjuster licenses and fulfill continuing education requirements.
• Active insurance adjuster’s license from a designated home state, or home state.
• Bachelor's degree (absence of one should not deter you from applying if you meet all other qualifications).
• At least 3 years of experience focused on transportation claims adjusting, ideally including:
• Third-party property damage.
• Third-party bodily injury, including catastrophic losses.
• UM/UIM bodily injury.
• Litigation experience.
• PIP experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Willingness to obtain all necessary licenses within 60 days, including completing state-required examinations.
• Understanding of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures.
