This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Collaborates with scientists, engineers, and community partners to organize and manage multimodal biomedical datasets.
• Assists researchers in the process of data ingestion into data hubs.
• Aids in the creation of data models and annotations tailored for specialized biomedical data types.
• Plays a role in data governance and workflow design that fosters discovery-driven science.
• Ensures that shared datasets are accessible, well-governed, and scientifically valuable.
• Adapts to changing project requirements and promotes a culture of learning and teamwork.
• 2+ years of experience in biomedical data management/biocuration with a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical research, health informatics, health information management, library science, genomics, neuroscience, or a related field.
• Knowledge of biomedical data management/biocuration and an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in biomedical research, health informatics, health information management, library science, or a related area.
• Experience handling complex multi-omic data (e.g., transcriptomics, whole genome sequencing, proteomics, metabolomics, epigenetics, clinical/phenotypic data).
• Proven track record of working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with biomedical data models, metadata harmonization, and ontology development or refinement.
• Proficient in using project management tools such as Jira.
• Understanding of various disease domains (e.g., rare diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, immunology).
• Expertise in data management tools and methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and inclusive technical practices.
• Interest in and critical evaluation of AI tools to enhance data management and analysis efforts.
• Knowledge of coding for data management and familiarity with version control systems.
