This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Create original, thought-provoking multiple-choice biology questions that assess a deep understanding of the subject.
• Validate existing biology questions for scientific correctness, clarity, rigor, completeness, and solvability.
• Revise questions and answer options, documenting significant scientific modifications.
• Formulate problems related to experimental design, controls, measurements, biological inference, datasets, figures, and research scenarios.
• Detect confounding factors, methodological flaws, unsupported assumptions, and alternative explanations.
• Generate and assess content in industrial biotechnology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, synthetic biology, and engineered biological systems.
• Create questions concerning biomedical research, therapeutic discovery, target identification, mechanism-of-action studies, experimental validation, and preclinical research.
• Develop comprehensive content across agricultural, environmental, food, ecological, molecular, microbiological, and physiological biology.
• Provide 1–5 academic references for each question as required.
• Craft structured solution explanations and assess question difficulty using Medium, Hard, and Expert standards.
• Assist in maintaining consistent scientific quality and contribute to premier AI benchmark evaluation materials.
• PhD or current doctoral candidacy in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Biotechnology, or a closely related life sciences field.
• A Master's degree may be acceptable for candidates demonstrating exceptional expertise in a pertinent biological subdomain.
• Proficient understanding of graduate-level biology, experimental design, and scientific data analysis.
• Specialized knowledge in one or more areas including pharmaceutical manufacturing, industrial biology, synthetic biology, medical research, drug discovery, agricultural biology, environmental biology, or food biology.
• Solid comprehension of biological research methodology and evidence evaluation.
• Capability to construct rigorous, discerning academic assessment content.
• Exceptional written English skills and the ability to convey complex scientific ideas clearly and accurately.
• Academic research publications are highly valued.
• Experience in laboratory settings, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or applied life sciences is advantageous.
• University-level teaching, examination development, or scientific assessment experience is greatly valued.
• Strong attention to scientific accuracy, experimental validity, and methodological rigor.
• Availability of at least 10 hours per week.
• Must perform work without utilizing confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party.
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this engagement.
• Flexible scheduling based on project needs.
• Fully remote and asynchronous work arrangements.
• Part-time independent contractor position.
• Expected availability of at least 10 hours per week.
• Compensation ranging from $50 to $65 per hour.
• Project duration may be adjusted based on needs and performance.
