Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• In the role of Billing Specialist, you will oversee and execute all billing activities within our skilled nursing facilities, focusing specifically on Illinois Medicaid billing.

• This position necessitates a thorough understanding of various payer types and the capability to ensure precise and prompt billing procedures.

• Your duties will encompass, but are not limited to, billing operations, claims management, documentation and reporting, collaboration and communication, as well as adherence to regulatory compliance.

• Must have in-depth knowledge of Illinois Medicaid regulations.

• Previous experience in managing complex billing situations is essential.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant billing experience in a LTC/SNF setting is required.

• Experience as a managed care biller is preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of billing procedures for all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and others is required.

• Proficiency in billing software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems is mandatory.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment is essential.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

• A professional demeanor in both appearance and conduct is expected.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must.
