This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in managing regulatory issues, litigation, and escalated consumer complaints in a dynamic and highly regulated setting.
• Collaborate closely with Legal Counsel and cross-functional partners to ensure legal files, documentation, and processes are maintained accurately, consistently, and are audit-ready.
• Keep legal and regulatory records in HighQ updated, ensuring information is precise, complete, and promptly reflects incoming consumer complaints, regulatory communications, and case developments.
• Prepare and organize List Case Activities (LCA) worksheets, summaries, evidence, and related documentation.
• Oversee and manage Legal shared drives, applying consistent naming conventions and version control practices.
• Coordinate the intake and documentation for new complaints by partnering with Complaint Management to collect case summaries, LCAs, and supporting materials.
• Assist in addressing escalated and regulatory complaints by preparing case files and tracking key milestones and timelines.
• Monitor and maintain records of hearings, mediations, regulatory deadlines, limitation periods, and significant milestones.
• Contribute to the development and upkeep of the Legal Knowledge Center by organizing templates, playbooks, regulatory guidance, and best practices.
• Facilitate coordination and communication between Legal Counsel, Complaint Management, Privacy, Compliance, and other internal teams.
• Paralegal diploma or equivalent legal training.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in a legal, regulatory, or compliance setting (preferred).
• Experience in a highly regulated industry (such as financial services, credit reporting, or privacy) is advantageous.
• Bilingual proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken).
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple files and deadlines concurrently.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
