This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide real-time medical scribing assistance during telemedicine consultations.
• Ensure charts are accurately updated, well-organized, and prepared for provider review.
• Aid in chart preparation prior to appointments by examining notes, lab results, medications, and relevant patient history.
• Input essential clinical information into the EMR, including the primary concern, diagnosis context, and medication details.
• Facilitate lab ordering processes, which includes selecting the appropriate lab facility, attaching diagnosis codes, and confirming order completeness.
• Assist in reviewing referrals, authorizations, and necessary documents before patient visits.
• Manage prior authorizations as part of the daily workflow within the clinic.
• Offer bilingual support in Spanish and English, including real-time translation during patient interactions when required.
• Help coordinate patient scheduling and workflows effectively.
• Handle around 40 calls per day when not actively engaged in scribing.
• Provide backup support for phone and administrative tasks when in-office team members require coverage.
• Communicate effectively with the clinic team regarding urgent updates, follow-ups, and task statuses.
• Uphold high standards for confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and accuracy in documentation.
• Proficient in both English and Spanish.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a medical scribe.
• Capable of managing a high-volume phone workflow, including approximately 40 calls daily when not scribing.
• Willingness to assist with prior authorization tasks.
• Strong grasp of medical terminology, charting, and patient coordination.
• Comfortable supporting a provider during live telemedicine sessions.
• Experience with EMR documentation, chart preparation, referrals, and insurance workflows is highly advantageous.
• Ability to adhere to established systems and quickly adapt to clinic-specific procedures.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capacity to remain organized while managing multiple tasks.
• Professional, reliable, and responsive during working hours.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Backup internet and power source preferred.
• A quiet and professional workspace conducive to patient-facing support.
