This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead and oversee a high-performing team of Bid Writers and Development Support Coordinators tasked with delivering all bids for the Municipal Services Division.
• Motivate, inspire, and assist the team in producing top-quality written submissions for a diverse array of contracts.
• Direct the review process and provide final approval for all method statements, selection questionnaires, and responses for pre-market engagement.
• Collaborate with Business Development Managers to develop compelling quality responses at every stage of the bidding process.
• Foster continuous improvement in bid templates, processes, and submission standards within the Business Development team.
• Organize internal reporting, progress meetings, approval documents, and Investment Committee submissions to ensure bids remain on schedule and properly governed.
• Work closely with various departments, including Fleet, HR, IT, and Procurement.
• Assist in strategic Bid / No Bid decisions alongside senior leadership.
• Manage and develop the Bid Writing team while maintaining a robust library of model answers, case studies, and best practice content for Municipal Services.
• Cultivate strong relationships throughout the business by participating in regional meetings.
• Degree educated or possess an equivalent qualification, with strong written English skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a tendering, bidding, or pricing environment, with a proven track record of creating successful submissions.
• Excellent ability to craft clear, persuasive, and high-quality bid content under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of the waste industry or the broader environmental services sector is highly desirable.
• Confident communicator, capable of establishing strong working relationships across various departments and stakeholders.
• Highly organized and commercially aware, with the capability to manage multiple bids and priorities concurrently.
