This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and instruct cycling groups on multi-day tours across the United States.
• Ensure that participants feel safe, comfortable, informed, and are enjoying the experience.
• Manage each day's itinerary and make adjustments based on weather, road conditions, or other factors.
• Explain cycling techniques, safety protocols, and tour expectations to participants.
• Act as the primary point of contact for participants and address their questions.
• Co-lead tours in collaboration with other guides.
• Conduct pre-tour safety briefings and confirm that participants have the necessary gear.
• Oversee group safety, adherence to road-safety regulations, and handle emergencies and accidents.
• Drive vans with attached trailers to transport bikes, gear, and participants.
• Load, unload, secure, fuel, inspect, and maintain vehicles and trailers.
• Assist with resolving minor vehicle issues.
• Perform basic bicycle repairs and adjustments, including fixing flat tires, brakes, and gears.
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of bicycles.
• Create a friendly and professional environment while addressing participant concerns.
• Provide insights into local culture, history, landmarks, and natural surroundings along the tour routes.
• Preferred experience as a guide, cycling guide, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cycling, bicycle maintenance, and outdoor safety practices.
• Experience in customer service, particularly within outdoor, tourism, or hospitality environments.
• Valid driver's license and experience driving vans and towing trailers, ideally with a clean driving record.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to navigate and lead groups through unfamiliar terrains using maps, Ride With GPS, or other navigation tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
• First Aid and CPR certification, or a willingness to obtain these qualifications.
• Competence in driving larger vehicles, including vans and trailers.
• Knowledge of safe gear loading and securing techniques.
• Capability to cycle for 3–8 hours daily across varied terrain.
• Comfort in leading groups on challenging cycling routes and in diverse weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to manage long rides while assisting with bike repairs.
• Ability to safely drive and operate a van and trailer for extended durations.
• Personable, passionate about cycling and the outdoors, approachable, and enthusiastic about sharing local knowledge.
