
BI Engineer – Looker Studio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Design and develop advanced solutions in Looker Studio by applying data modeling, calculated metrics, data connectors, interactive visualizations, and data storytelling to generate actionable and impactful insights.
• Implement, maintain, and evolve data solutions by applying advanced modeling, calculated fields, and complex KPIs, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Configure and optimize custom data connectors (Community Connectors via Apps Script or third-party tools like Supermetrics, Power My Analytics) to expand available data sources.
• Provide technical support for the effective use of Looker Studio, ensuring that solutions meet quality standards and user needs.
• Collaborate closely with teams, assisting in development to understand customer and project requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Stay updated on best practices and the latest Looker Studio updates to maximize the value and effectiveness of solutions.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical issues related to Looker Studio, ensuring optimal performance of implemented solutions.
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering, or a similar higher-level qualification.
• Experience in developing and implementing business intelligence solutions using Looker Studio.
• Proficiency in data modeling, calculated fields, native and third-party connectors, interactive visualizations, and data storytelling.
• Ability to optimize report performance: utilizing data extracts, caching, reducing real-time queries, and applying best design practices for high-load dashboards.
• Experience integrating data from various sources (Google Analytics, BigQuery, Google Sheets, SQL databases, etc.), performing data cleaning, transformation, and combination techniques.
• Knowledge of Google BigQuery as the primary data source: writing optimized SQL queries, using views and partitioned tables to enhance report speed.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Highly valued: Knowledge of the Google Cloud ecosystem (BigQuery, Looker, Data Studio) + advanced SQL skills + relevant Google certifications.
