This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Bridge the divide between the data engineering team and the analytics group.
• Convert raw data into scalable and reliable datasets.
• Provide impactful analytics solutions utilizing a modern BI visualization platform.
• Utilize a cloud data platform effectively.
• Design, construct, and sustain scalable data models (including dimensional, star, and snowflake schemas).
• Create and refine SQL / PL-SQL transformations for analytical consumption.
• Implement and oversee semantic layers to standardize business logic and metrics.
• Guarantee data quality, consistency, and governance throughout datasets.
• Develop and manage dashboards, liveboards, and search-driven analytics (preferably using ThoughtSpot).
• Convert business requirements into user-friendly, self-service analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish KPIs, metrics, and reporting standards.
• Operate within Snowflake for data modeling, performance optimization, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with data engineering teams on data pipelines and ingestion frameworks.
• Enhance query performance and warehouse utilization.
• Support embedded analytics use cases (including APIs, SDKs, or iframe-based integrations).
• Enable both external and internal users with governed, scalable access to analytics.
• Promote the adoption of BI tools through best practices and training initiatives.
• Define and uphold standards for data modeling, naming conventions, and metric definitions.
• Contribute to data cataloging and documentation efforts.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or data analysis.
• Strong expertise in SQL (mandatory).
• Practical experience with modern BI tools (ThoughtSpot is highly preferred; alternatives include Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Demonstrated experience in designing semantic layers and business models.
• Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms.
• Solid understanding of:
• Data warehousing principles.
• Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Data governance practices.
• Experience with embedded analytics architecture (preferred).
• Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation frameworks (preferred).
• Exposure to API-driven data access or BI integrations (preferred).
• Experience in supporting external-facing analytics products (preferred).
• Understanding of data contracts and data product thinking (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and business translation (soft skill).
• Ability to function in a cross-functional environment (Product, Data Engineering, Business) (soft skill).
