BI Administrator – Data Analytics, Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Deliver hands-on technical leadership for the administration, operational reliability, and governance support of the enterprise BI platforms at Johns Hopkins, including Tableau Cloud, Power BI, and emerging Microsoft Fabric.

• This role is accountable for the daily operations of the platforms, which encompass configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, gateway and bridge coordination, Tier 2/3 support, and vendor escalation.

• Collaborate closely with M365, security, infrastructure, and governance stakeholders to establish standards for access, compliance, documentation, and audit/logging readiness.

• Create technical guidance and user-facing communications, assist with licensing and cost recovery activities, and ensure that these BI services remain secure, stable, scalable, and well-governed for the institution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Six years of relevant experience

• Additional education may compensate for required experience, and additional related experience may replace required education beyond a high school diploma or its equivalent, as permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

• Proven experience in administering cloud BI services and hybrid connectivity components (gateways/bridges), along with experience in troubleshooting production incidents and maintaining operational documentation/runbooks.

• Proficiency in operating within cross-team governance processes and in translating platform capabilities and risks into standards, communications, and operational practices.
