This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Support the administration of all benefits and retirement initiatives.
• Coordinate leave of absence processes in the U.S. and Canada, which includes managing disability, FMLA, workers' compensation, personal leaves, reporting, HRIS updates, payroll tasks, and the collection of benefit premiums.
• Provide daily benefits assistance and address escalated employee inquiries for both the United States and Canada.
• Enroll participants in the Employee Share Purchase Plan, update data, and conduct necessary audits.
• Assist in the annual open enrollment process for U.S. employees.
• Monitor weekly benefit import errors, update reports, and work with the HRIS team to resolve discrepancies.
• Review 401(k) enrollments on a weekly basis, submit data changes, audit contribution updates, and address discrepancies.
• Submit continuation forms for benefits in Canada for employees who have been terminated.
• Collaborate with vendors and the HR Team to enhance communication regarding wellness and benefit offerings.
• Aid in the development and implementation of benefits programs, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain and refine benefits-related Standard Operating Procedures and the company intranet.
• Address escalated employee issues related to benefit plans and enrollment.
• Assist with necessary reporting and notifications, including those for workers' compensation, ACA, and Medicare Part D.
• Assess and suggest process improvements.
• A minimum of a two-year degree or equivalent experience is required.
• At least two years of experience in benefits and/or leave administration is necessary.
• Exceptional customer service abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational capabilities.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work situations and environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Resourceful with a strong sense of ownership over assigned projects and tasks.
• Experience with Workday HRIS is advantageous.
