Batch Developer – LINUX, C, SQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Develops, tests, debugs, implements, and documents software programs.

• Aids in modifying company products and/or internal/customer systems to fulfill client and/or end-user requirements.

• Collects information from the system, analyzes program and time requirements, and prepares documentation for altering existing programs.

• Conducts research and analysis on existing systems and program requirements with occasional supervision.

• Designs software for projects or enhancements to current programs.

• Writes specifications for programs of low to moderate complexity.

• Assists in troubleshooting production support issues.

• Develops and proposes alternative solutions to address issues.

• Creates test plans to validate the logic of new or updated programs.

• Identifies issues as necessary.

• Produces relevant documentation for work assignments, including program code and technical documentation.

• Performs quality assurance tasks such as peer reviews.

• Stays informed about and researches industry technical trends and new developments to maintain up-to-date skills and comply with industry standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in applications development and programming with C, Linux, job scripts/streams, SQL, and IWS (Integrated Web Services).

• Experience in resolving cycle abends and debugging batch code.

• Strong SQL/data analysis skills for troubleshooting and validation purposes.

• Comfortable in supporting production issues, conducting defect analysis, data investigation, and performing end-to-end testing.

• Experience with pharmacy or healthcare systems (NCPDP – D.0, EDI transactions, etc.) is preferred.

• Familiarity with mainframe (COBOL) or legacy systems is a plus.
