BAS Design Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise the scopes of work for subconsultants, which includes the creation, review, and coordination of Statements of Objectives (SOO), construction drawings, and technical specifications.

• Ensure that subconsultant deliverables are thorough, precise, and in accordance with project specifications, organizational standards, and relevant codes and regulations through the DLB QAQC process.

• Collaborate with project teams and external stakeholders to monitor compliance with project scopes, uphold quality standards, and facilitate the timely delivery of design and documentation packages.

• Generate and oversee project deliverables, including design drawings, sequences of operations, and specifications.

• Assist in creating various engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit formats, which include floor plans, system architecture diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and control panel diagrams.

• Coordinate with MEP trades on items that also influence BAS.

• Recognize potential changes in project scope and contribute to the development of strategies to minimize their impact and manage deviations from estimated costs and deadlines.

• Manage project deliverables even when not serving as the lead design engineer.

• Establish, document, and maintain BAS and EPMS production standards in collaboration with the BIM team.

• Formulate, document, and sustain BAS and EPMS specification sections.

• Regularly review existing standards to ensure alignment with customer requirements, DLB graphics standards, and ongoing industry innovations.

• Provide training, guidance, and support to staff regarding adherence to standards and implementation.

• Oversee and review shop drawings and submittals.

• Manage, review, and respond to RFIs.

• Handle the review of punch lists and project close-out documents.

• Assist in managing onsite BAS engineering audits and feasibility studies.

• Aid in managing BAS engineering surveys for retrofit projects.

• Prepare and supervise the creation of project progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Generate and complete departmental reports.

• Responsible for project contract administration.

• Utilize AI-enabled and digital tools to improve efficiency, minimize manual tasks, and ensure consistent, high-quality work output.

⛳️ Requirements

• Understanding of open-source protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.

• Familiarity with IoT and smart building solutions.

• Knowledge of common data center control redundancy strategies.

• Awareness of materials, methods, and tools involved in constructing mission-critical commercial buildings or other structures.

• Proficient in using Revit and AutoCAD.

• Experienced with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and possess excellent organizational skills for file management.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to complete assignments accurately.

• Capable of leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, optimize operational processes, and foster innovation across the organization.

• Proficient in working effectively in a remote environment through strong communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in an uninterrupted workspace.

• Skilled in identifying and analyzing complex issues, evaluating options, and implementing effective solutions.
