This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Participate in a comprehensive full-time training program lasting 6–7 weeks, conducted both virtually and in-person, to gain certification in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel on a daily basis to perform in-person background investigations.
• Arrange and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects, neighbors, employers, friends, and family members.
• Execute record searches at law enforcement agencies, courthouses, educational institutions, financial organizations, and medical/mental health facilities.
• Clearly and concisely document gathered information using a government-issued computer system.
• Operate independently while collaborating as part of a team of Investigators and alongside a Field Manager.
• A minimum of 4 years of general work experience, or a bachelor’s degree may be considered as qualifications.
• Prior experience in conducting federal background investigations is preferred.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Daily local travel and occasional travel outside the area are required.
• A home office setup is necessary.
• Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY) of 14–30 days away from home may be required.
• Residency within 50 miles of the Eau Claire city center is required.
• A valid driver's license and consistent access to reliable transportation are mandatory.
• Adequate motor vehicle insurance is required.
• Must possess accurate and efficient typing skills; a typing speed of 40+ WPM is recommended.
• Ability to work concurrently across multiple computer programs is essential.
• Capability to speak for extended durations and hear adequately for in-person and telephone communications.
• Proficiency in recording, reading, and transcribing words and numbers accurately.
• Strong grammar and writing skills are necessary.
• Professional demeanor, regular attendance, punctuality, attention to detail, confidentiality, ethics, and integrity are essential.
• Professional attire is required.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for long periods, and drive in adverse or nighttime conditions.
• Ability to professionally interact with diverse individuals and personalities.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment under remote supervision.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills are required.
• Relocation assistance is not available.
