Backend Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Guide technical decision-making and foster architectural coherence within the team.

• Ensure our code remains scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

• Serve as the primary technical resource for backend-related subjects.

• Evaluate and critically assess design proposals to uphold high engineering standards.

• Remain actively engaged in developing new features.

• Ensure the team adheres to established engineering processes and best practices.

• Work closely with Product, Data, and Frontend teams during feature refinements to achieve integrated system design.

• Assist backend engineers in addressing complex technical issues.

• Recognize technical risks early and outline mitigation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive and deep experience with Python (FastAPI) in production settings.

• Demonstrated experience as a Tech Lead.

• Solid understanding of scalable system architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience in designing and advancing microservices or modular architectures.

• Strong proficiency with SQL data storage solutions.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

• Comprehensive understanding of clean architecture principles and domain-driven design.

• Experience working with APIs (REST, GraphQL).

• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker).

• Exceptional skills in code review and mentoring.

• Capability to balance technical excellence with practical delivery.

• Solid experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, RDS, etc.) is advantageous.

• Background in fintech, financial reporting, analytics platforms, or OLAP systems is a plus.

• Familiarity with event-driven systems and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) is a plus.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.

• Background in large-scale data processing systems is a plus.

• Experience in high-growth startup environments is a plus.
