Backend Software Engineer – Scala, Distributed Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement new features throughout the platform, including no-code capabilities, analytics, administrative tools, and data management systems.

• Design, create, and sustain backend services and distributed systems.

• Take ownership of the architecture and delivery of scalable, dependable backend components.

• Design and establish APIs for both internal and external system integrations.

• Create and maintain integrations with third-party systems and services.

• Work in close collaboration with product and internal stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.

• Ensure systems are maintainable, scalable, and adhere to best engineering practices.

• Participate in technical decision-making and strive for continuous improvement of system architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience with Scala.

• Familiarity with JVM-based languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin).

• A strong understanding of functional programming principles and experience with related libraries.

• Proficient SQL skills and experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.

• Experience in designing and constructing microservices-based architectures.

• Proficient in developing and utilizing RESTful APIs.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and tools such as AWS.

• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently.

• Capability to design systems that are both scalable and maintainable.
