Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identify new features or improvements based on overarching goals and challenges

• Execute defined features or enhancements from start to finish

• Establish implementation strategies

• Utilize the expertise of fellow team members

• Create design documentation for intricate problems

• Produce clean and efficient code

• Support team members in achieving their objectives

• Develop a robust and scalable backend to host the reasoning engine

• Operate at a chosen level close to the reasoning engine or infrastructure

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in software engineering within a collaborative commercial setting

• Background in working with large codebases

• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and code review processes

• Proficient in functional or typed programming languages such as Rust, OCaml, Clojure, C++, or Haskell

• Eagerness to learn and work with Julia, TypeScript, and Rust

• Experience in developing scalable services, including databases, networking, and computing across different architectures

• Knowledge of implementing observability throughout the tech stack

• Background in CI/CD pipelines that involve balancing correctness with development efficiency

• Preferred: experience in hosting machine learning models or other resource-intensive services

• Preferred: experience in infrastructure development using Terraform and Kubernetes

• Capability to work within the CET timezone

• Ability to synchronize work within ±2 hours of the core hours of 09:00–18:00 CET
