Backend Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Oversee backend development for payment-related solutions.

• Make key architectural and technical decisions.

• Create scalable backend architectures for intricate payment processes.

• Assume responsibility for backend delivery and uphold technical quality.

• Coordinate with developers and assist in task breakdown.

• Evaluate technical solutions and code quality.

• Engage in provider/payment method integrations.

• Work on transaction processing, balances, limits, risk management, reporting, and back-office operations.

• Monitor the stability and performance of production environments.

• Identify technical risks and suggest enhancements.

• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and business stakeholders.

• Ensure that the solutions implemented are dependable, maintainable, and scalable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional backend development experience.

• Strong practical experience with Python 3.x and Django.

• Demonstrated experience as a Tech Lead / Backend Lead / Lead Developer.

• Experience in managing or coordinating backend development activities.

• Significant experience in designing and developing complex, high-load backend systems.

• In-depth knowledge of transactional integrity, idempotency patterns, and race condition prevention.

• Strong understanding of system architecture, integrations, distributed systems, queues and asynchronous processing, databases and data consistency, and performance optimization.

• Experience with PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with RabbitMQ / Redis or similar technologies.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar).

• Fluent in Russian.

• Intermediate+ proficiency in English.

• Experience in FinTech / Payments is required.
