Backend / Full-stack Engineer, TypeScript, AI-assisted

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Analyze and develop a thorough understanding of the existing TypeScript / Next.js codebase, including its architecture, data flows, and business logic.

• Take ownership of and enhance technical documentation related to architecture, data flows, business logic, and essential system processes.

• Design, implement, and deploy backend and full-stack features for Command Center and various internal tools.

• Oversee server-side logic, APIs, PostgreSQL data access, and authorization; build React / Next.js components as required by full-stack tasks.

• Write, optimize, and review SQL queries, while maintaining integrations between internal systems, databases, and business workflows.

• Ensure code quality through intentional refactoring, clearer structure, and simpler, more maintainable logic.

• Utilize AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) for code understanding, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and test creation.

• Automate repetitive processes and suggest practical enhancements to internal workflows.

• Participate in technical discussions with data, analytics, finance, recruitment, and other business teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Commercial experience with TypeScript / JavaScript (backend or full-stack).

• Proficiency in React and Next.js, including familiarity with the App Router and Server Components / Server Actions (or a readiness to quickly learn).

• Ability to work confidently within an established codebase — understanding its structure, reading it, and making improvements.

• Strong understanding of server-side logic, APIs, databases, and principles of authorization.

• Practical SQL experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Experience with Git, code reviews, and independent debugging/root-cause analysis.

• Hands-on experience with AI tools in development, demonstrating the judgment to review, test, and comprehend AI-assisted code.

• Comfortable working with internal tools, data-intensive applications, and business logic; eager to learn quickly and understand the business context.

• 1-2+ years of commercial experience in backend, full-stack, or TypeScript-focused roles.

• Familiarity with NextAuth / OAuth / JWT / Google OAuth / role-based access (preferred).

• Knowledge of GCP, Cloud SQL, service accounts, and Vercel deployments (preferred).

• Experience with Zod or other validation libraries; Vitest / Jest (preferred).

• Background in inheriting and refactoring AI-generated / "vibe-coded" projects (preferred).

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL views, migrations, and query optimization (preferred).

• Experience with AI / LLM API integrations (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini) (preferred).
