Senior Backend Software Engineer – Attack and User Emulation Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain essential services for cybersecurity range simulation, emphasizing scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.

• Oversee comprehensive technical projects from gathering requirements and designing architecture to deployment, while establishing clear objectives and priorities.

• Mentor and guide team engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and advising them on coding best practices, testing, and architectural design.

• Work collaboratively with Product Managers and UX Designers to convert requirements into technically robust, user-focused solutions.

• Perform code reviews and deliver constructive feedback to ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and compliance with company guidelines.

• Establish effective monitoring and alerting strategies to sustain high uptime and facilitate swift responses to potential system issues.

• Ensure compliance with security standards by embedding appropriate controls throughout the development lifecycle.

• Contribute to the creation of documentation that outlines technical architecture, system design, and best practices to promote knowledge sharing and team cohesion.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on constructing large-scale, distributed systems.

• Proficient in an OOP-based programming language such as Java or Kotlin, with a solid understanding of API design, integration, and best practices.

• Proven track record in unit testing, integration testing, and deploying services in Kubernetes or a similar container orchestration platform.

• Demonstrated capability in designing, building, and managing fault-tolerant systems, including experience in requirements gathering and project breakdown.

• Well-versed in cybersecurity, possessing a comprehensive understanding of both offensive and defensive security.
