Backend Engineer – Python, Ruby, Go

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Go microservices that form the core of the system.

• Engage in system re-design, ETL processes for re-platforming, and integration with current services.

• Collaborate with Apache Pulsar to facilitate real-time data distribution.

• Work with Apache Polaris catalogs and execute Trino queries.

• Ensure system observability and reliability through effective logging, metrics collection, and tracing.

• Deploy and manage services within Kubernetes environments across various cloud platforms.

• Contribute to the areas of Data Engineering, Platform, and DevOps.

• Take part in technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and optimize performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in backend software development.

• At least 5 years of practical experience with Python OR Ruby.

• A minimum of 1 year of professional experience with Go (Golang).

• Experience in designing or maintaining microservices.

• Familiarity with event-driven messaging systems such as Apache Pulsar (preferred), Kafka, or NATS.

• Data experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing techniques.

• Experience with at least one Data Lake Stack.

• Proficient in SQL with proven experience in SQL and No-SQL databases.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, and configuration.

• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes operators, CRDs, and Helm.

• Understanding of cloud CI/CD systems and delivery pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
