Backend Engineer – Machine Learning Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to ensure high performance, security, and reliability.

• Construct and optimize data pipelines for the ingestion, storage, and serving of large-scale datasets, including video and machine learning training data.

• Take ownership of and enhance the foundational data model that supports the entire Frontera platform.

• Balance the swift development of MVPs and POCs for user research with the establishment of robust, long-term backend foundations.

• Integrate third-party tools and services to improve platform functionality.

• Collaborate closely with engineers, machine learning scientists, and clinicians to ensure platform capabilities meet user requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong proficiency in Python, Java, or comparable programming languages.

• Comprehensive understanding of API development, database design (both relational and NoSQL), as well as the construction of scalable data pipelines and orchestration workflows.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

• Experience with AI/ML technologies and their applications in healthcare is a plus.

• Knowledge of video storage, processing, and streaming technologies is a bonus.
