Backend Engineer – Django, AI & Algorithmic Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Create and develop backend services and APIs utilizing Python + Django (including DRF or similar frameworks).

• Design and enhance our domain within the database, ensuring clean and well-structured schemas and relationships.

• Integrate algorithmic/AI logic into the backend (such as scoring, ranking, routing, and decision rules).

• Produce pragmatic, production-ready code that is easy to understand and modify.

• Focus on accuracy and performance: efficient queries, intelligent indexing, and concise responses.

• Collaborate with the team to translate product ideas into tangible technical designs and endpoints.

• Contribute to shaping our development practices: patterns, conventions, and how we deploy and iterate as we expand.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in developing backend applications using Python + Django.

• Strong knowledge of relational data modeling and SQL (we utilize PostgreSQL).

• Proficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs (experience with DRF or similar frameworks is a plus).

• Background in handling complex business logic or algorithms (for instance, decision flows, scoring rules, optimization logic).

• Good instincts regarding performance: understanding query behavior, avoiding common pitfalls, and effectively using caching.

• A startup mentality: adaptable to ambiguity, willing to move quickly, and able to iterate based on real-world feedback.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting while communicating effectively.
