Backend Engineer – AWS, Cloud & Deployment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• We are seeking a Backend Engineer with a strong focus on AWS, capable of designing, building, and operating production services, understanding not only backend development but also how to run real systems in the cloud.

• This role is aimed at profiles who can navigate between development and infrastructure, participating in practical decisions regarding architecture, deployment, and operation in cloud environments.

• It is not a role focused on frontend development or theoretical architecture, but rather on the actual execution of systems in AWS, including their structure, deployment, scaling, and security in production.

• We are looking for profiles with practical experience in cloud, although not necessarily specialists in DevOps or advanced architecture.

• Seniority: Mid-Senior / Senior

• Experience: Over 5 years in backend development with real exposure to cloud (AWS)

• Technical skills

• Strong experience in backend development (Node.js, Python, Java, or others)

• Practical experience in AWS (NOT just usage, but understanding how to operate systems)

• Knowledge of AWS architecture:

• VPC

• Regions

• Services and communication between them

• Experience using:

• AWS Lambda

• API Gateway

• ECS / Fargate

• S3

• Experience in application deployment:

• CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)

• Environment management

• Versioning

• Experience with containers:

• Docker

• Deployment on Fargate or similar environments

• Practical knowledge of:

• Load balancing

• Backups

• Disaster Recovery (basic to intermediate level)

• Basic knowledge of cloud application security

• Soft skills

• Structured thinking and problem-solving orientation

• Ability to make practical technical decisions

• Focus on execution and not just theoretical design

• Autonomy and a sense of ownership

• Clear communication with technical teams

• Desired education and qualifications

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Software, or related field (preferred)

• AWS certifications (preferably associated or professional, not basic)

• Experience in structured or institutional environments (not solely informal startups)
