Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete backend architecture from the outset.

• Establish technical standards and best practices for code quality, testing, documentation, and deployment.

• Lead the system design to tackle complex issues related to data ingestion.

• Develop and enhance core backend systems.

• Collaborate with the Head of Engineering to co-own the technical vision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Over 7 years of experience in backend engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical lead, staff, or principal position at a high-growth startup or product-focused company.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Strong expertise in databases like PostgreSQL or similar.

• Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, including event-driven architectures.

• Hands-on production experience with AWS (or GCP/Azure).

• Solid understanding of DevOps principles.

• Proficient in data engineering.
