Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of features across the product.

• Write clean and maintainable code for back-end systems deployed in AWS or GCP.

• Collaborate with specialists in AI and cryptography.

• Work alongside the product manager to grasp requirements and assist the team in planning architecture, data flows, API specifications, and testing strategies.

• Adhere to established engineering practices and engage in team discussions regarding process and quality.

• Participate in customer-driven development and iterate based on feedback.

• Develop automated tests for load, performance, and error handling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience focusing on backend development.

• Strong coding experience in TypeScript.

• Experience with AWS, including containers (EKS, ECS) and serverless systems.

• Proficiency in relational, key/value, and graph datastores with schema management.

• Expertise in API design, data modeling, secure service development, and database systems.

• A commitment to producing quality code, effective error handling, and ensuring high availability.

• A thoughtful and pragmatic approach to addressing technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.

• At least an upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English.
