
Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.
• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of features throughout the product.
• Produce clean, maintainable code for back-end systems hosted on AWS or GCP.
• Collaborate with specialists in AI and cryptography.
• Partner with the product manager to comprehend requirements and aid the team in planning architecture, data flows, API specifications, and testing strategies.
• Adhere to established engineering practices and engage in team discussions regarding processes and quality.
• Engage in customer-driven development and iterate based on user feedback.
• Develop automated tests for load, performance, and error handling.
• Over 5 years of practical software engineering experience focused on backend development.
• Strong coding skills in TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS, particularly in containers (EKS, ECS) and serverless architectures.
• Familiarity with relational, key/value, and graph data stores, including schema management.
• Knowledge of API design, data modeling, secure service development, and database systems.
• Commitment to writing quality code with a focus on error handling and high availability.
• A thoughtful and pragmatic approach to solving technical challenges in a dynamic environment.
• At least an upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English.
